Climate Bridge has registered trading accounts on several platforms since 2016 to provide clients with the development and trading business of green energy certificates. Our renewable energy certificate standards include International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs), APX Tradable Instrument for Global Renewables (APX TIGRs), Green Electricity Certificate (GEC) of China for wind, photovoltaic, and hydropower types.

A renewable energy certificate is an energy attribute certificate that is separately tracked and traded from electricity. This unbundled attribute allows companies to overcome geographical constraints to reduce their scope 2 emissions.

1: Utilise 100% Renewable EnergyIndirect emissions via the use of fossil fuel-based electricity acts as a major source of emissions for manufacturers. Purchasing green power or green certifications helps to reduce these indirect emissions and enable a company to utilise 100% renewable energy.

I-RECInternational Renewable Energy Certificates (I-REC)

Founded by the I-REC Standard Foundation (IRESF), a Dutch non-governmental organization, I-REC implemented in 2014. It has a robust electricity attribute tracking system that records and tracks renewable electricity production in regions outside of Europe and North America.

The applicable region includes areas in Asia and Europe (Turkey, Saudi Arabia, China, India, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, etc.), South America (Brazil, Argentina, Chile), Africa (Egypt, South Africa, Congo, etc.) and Oceania.

GECGreen Electricity Certificate (GEC)

Green Electricity Certificate (GEC) is a voluntary renewable energy trading system for energy certificates in China that started in 2017 and is managed by the National Renewable Energy Information Management Center, which mainly applies to the Chinese region.
